Yes, I have the covers in super white. They look great and have held up well so far ~1.5 yrs. Good option to get rid of the chrome.

Do you like the fit on the eBay caps? Thought about ordering just wanted to make sure they’re decent quality, thanks!

I didn’t get eBay caps cause they don’t make MGM ones. Mine are aftermarket, but purchased through the body shop to get lifetime warranty on the paint, so they probably are same quality as the eBay ones. I don’t have an issue with fitment. Wish I had a color that had $120 eBay paint matched caps, would of totally went that route.

Oh ok! Thanks for the info! May just go the EBay route then.

On the second gen. I should have specified.

Any recommendations for aftermarket non-chrome plastic rear bumpers for 2nd gen?

There is something about plastic chrome that really bugs me. My harley had 1 piece covering the seam on the tank, I like the seam better. : )

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I guess this old thread is revived, so I’ll comment.

I initially thought I can deal with the chrome bumper caps. As time goes by, I started to think about putting black or white bumper covers on more and more.

What sealed the deal is when I decided to replace my gray and chrome 20+ TRD Sport/TRD Off-Road taillights with black OEM 20+ TRD PRO taillights, I decided the black bumper covers will match the truck better. I then placed an order for the Bumpershellz Textured Black bumper covers. I decided against white because I’m worried that the paint on the cover will age differently than the paint on the body.

I am very glad that I made the change. The black bumper covers and TRD PRO taillights matched the truck’s color scheme better, as my truck has the black LED headlights and it also came with Toyota’s blackout package (emblems, tailgate inserts, black exhaust tip).

Doesn't bother me, but why would they chrome over plastic? Just weird.

Because plastic doesnt rust, plastic is cheaper than metal, plastic is lighter to ship, Chromed plastic has been used for a long time by the industry as it provides the same look as chromed metal at a fraction of the cost.

I like the chrome on certain colors. Both chrome and painted look equally fine to me.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
I have never had any interest in what my trucks look like. Forty years, 4 different 4x4s. Chrome, decals, whatever it comes with I don’t change that stuff. Does not impact driving. Throw on some durable tires, and a bit stiffer shocks and thats it. Done.

As long as it can get me to the good spots and back.

I love all the OEM chrome. It’s a truck, not a show vehicle. And when I’m in it I can’t see it.
