Does anyone drive in ECT Power all the time for extra acceleration?

    That 454SS was such a sad little truck. Unbelievable that GM regulated that engine down so far with peanut heads and TBI. On the plus side, it is a 454 BBC and with a little work a BBC can push a garbage truck into the 10s.

    If you wanted a truck that didn't lack low end Torque and feels sluggish due to shitty shift mapping do not buy a new Tacoma

    Otherwise put it in ECT and it helps.


    I see the typical "you should have bought a Corvette" cop out has been used...

    I use ECT mode on the freeway, and that's about it. Otherwise if I want to take off, I really step on the gas.

    After the TSB 1, I only use ECT for fast mountain driving and towing heavy loads.

    It's sometimes hard to search for answers even with this feature. You still have to sift through worthless posts before you can even remotely find what your looking for.
