    Though I do appreciate the shenanigans - a couple of options come to mind:
    The button that holds lid closed could be weak if older or used a lot. Replace or reinforce? Somehow make the button harder to push?

    I trimmed up and stuck one of those fabric organizers to the inside lid and put some heavier things on it (small flashlight, multitool, etc). Because of the weight, if the lid is open all the way, it will basically auto-close with a rather commanding thud when I let it go. I'm sure a little bump would not open my lid and if it did, it would close on its own since the weight more than cancels out the spring in my lid.

    Other option could be a center console lock if you don't mind modding your center console and keeping a key. This may not be practical for someone in and out of their center console a lot.

    DoorDing's magnet idea is also a good one.

    I have the same issue. And had thought that the vault I had installed was the issue. I just hit the latch with my hand. Probably a stronger spring is in my future.

    OP, I know you said that you were not keen on extenders but ToYMoCo is required to provide them..........FREE. Go to he dealer parts dept and explain. They have several OEM lengths they can order. Just a short one makes a big difference.
