I see so many posts with mods/hints/stuff re automatic transmissions, what about those of us with a love for the manual ? (TRD, manual, access cab)

I've got a 2015 Ac 6spd and I love it. I looked forever to find a v6 4x4 6 speed and it was well worth the wait imo.

I loved driving through Glacier National Park with all the switchbacks... I could see people behind me wondering why my brake lights weren't on... yay manual transmission !

I consider the word "like" a pretty accurate description for how I feel. I have the TRD quick shift and really like it. I've also heard some pretty good things regarding the URD short shifter for the Tacoma as well. I'm interested in trying the Gen 3 Manual, and I give Toyota a lot of props for still offering one!

I LOVE my Honda S2000 manual. Help save the manual!

I'm not old enough for an automatic transmission.

I gave my '96 Tacoma w/ manual to my son. I'm selling my 2004 manual BMW 325xi. 'cuz I just got a new 2015 automatic DCSB Sport. My first automatic. I'm still not used to it. I really do like manuals, and all 3 of my sons learned on a stick (in the last few years, this wasn't that long ago). But it is getting much harder to find one. I'll always like driving manuals... but I'm going to the dark side.

I love a manual trans, my 95.5 tacoma had the 5spd and I'll be swapping a 5spd into my truck when I get a chance.

A lot of people, especially in my town, look down upon manual transmissions. Dono why. Maybe Cali is just lazy compared to the rest of the world.

Manual and 4x4 were 2 things I refused to budge on when shopping for a Tacoma.

I strongly agree, but I also recognize, different strokes for different folks. I really really like my Tacoma, but I consider myself a closet Honda fan boy at heart, and one of the reasons is because I love Honda manuals (and the V-Tec is pretty fun as well). Between my S2000, and the former Acura TSX that I had, to me Honda manual cars are a blast to drive. My wife and on the other hand preferred her Infiniti G35 and most American muscle car manuals, saying the Honda manuals are to light and girly.

Don't worry, if I get an inclination that my sons do not love the S2000 as much as I do, I might be buried in my S2000.

That's interesting I had a somewhat similar experience, got rid of the TSX (lived in the city, lack of parking space, tired of getting tickets). A few years later moved to the burbs, wanted an AWD family car with a stick (hoping the stick would add some fun), so I bought a used Subaru Outback XT with a rare 5 speed, not the same.

Thank God Toyota made the TRD quick shift, to me that was the deal closer, worth while upgrade.

I love my 6MT. I looked back, and roughly 60% of the 25 vehicles I've owned were manual.
The grouping is heavily towards the beginning of my driving life, and again in the last 15 years.
I thought I was getting old, should get a V-8 automatic.
Driving the Titan made me feel old. Fuck that.
Lost a few dollars, regained my senses with my 2nd TRD/MT.

A few years ago I was checking out a young lady at a stop light. She was in a top off Wrangler with a stick shift, smoking, talking on a cell phone, while drinking coffee. When the light changed she sat there. I watched a bit in the rear view mirror but never found out what her priorities were. My last stick shift was 3 cars ago, about 20 years. Too much stop and go traffic around here.
