    You're really not looking at the 'big' pictures here... It's not about the actual physical size, it's wheelbase, that's what makes these difficult to park.

    DCLBs have a 140.9" wheelbase... to put that into perspective;

    Chevy Suburban: 130"
    Chevy 2500 ext. cab: 144"

    That puts a "midsize" truck smack dab in the middle of a full-size SUV and a 3/4 ton truck. Coming from driving an S10 blazer, Jeep TJ, Subaru WRX STI and regular cab 1999 dodge (6' bed), a DCSB is actually the longest vehicle I've driven and on-par with the goliath of a suburban my father owned growing up.

    Most cities don't have large enough parking (metered or garaged) to fit more than a DCSB. Chicago, New York, Seattle, no way in hell I'd even want to be there with my DCSB, but a DCLB would just be torture.

    Everyone will have their own preference, no need for heated debate. But the pros and cons are interesting as people point them out.

    What he said. I can drive and park a big truck, I'd just rather not. Of course a DCLB Taco isn't as unwieldy as the giant dude bro monster trucks crawling all over this area, but the turning radius on my SB really impressed me. I think it's tighter than on the Accord Sport I traded in (that was surprisingly wide for a car, I think due to the Sport wheels). We had a 2005 Yukon XL for several years. It was surprisingly easy to maneuver, with very light power steering. I didn't realize the DCLB wheelbase was even longer than the Suburban's. As it is, I find the DCSB to be just right for my needs. There are times when the extra capacity would be nice. When I have to use my hitch-mounted cargo platform, my ego will be bruised every time someone with a Really Manly Truck passes me...

    I see the big picture. Globally, there are a lot of bad drivers a lot of people who are not comfortable parking larger vehicles and find them hard to maneuver. Not saying anyone here is a bad driver or can't park. Just saying that these trucks are entirely manageable in a parking lot and in city streets if you do it right.

    No shot! I love my short bed! Wouldn't trade it for the long bed even if I needed the extra space...short bed tacos are just too damn sexy!

    That's crazy talk. Garages are for storing motorcycles. The truck sits outside the way God intended.

    Agreed I've been able to parallel park this thing like a beast. The back up camera does help though

    :D More like crammed to the max. There isn't room to walk around in there due to all the vehicles.

    The little built in curb stop keeps my truck from fitting in going forward. It's only a 4-5"difference, backing up helps because of the ass-hang. Although I haven't tried it lately with my new bumper so there's a chance that it might not close anymore.

    The obvious solution is to go "rock crawling" right over that curb stop every time :)

    The only time I want a Long Bed is when I don't have it and need it. That accounts for about 1% of the time.

    Had a 2015 DCSB. The short bed always bothered me hauling things; boards. No one rode in the double cab but a few times in my nine years of owning it. My next buy, 2014 4X4 Access cab w/ long bed. It keeps the same wheel base. Love the turning radius, it's needed in my work; traffic signal inspections.

    My perfect Tacoma would be an AC but I have a child so I went DC. I don't haul what I used to and when I do, I borrow a truck or rent one. It has only come up once in the last year, a new 3 drawer LG frig. I rented the truck from Lowes.

    I have, but I like backing dat ass up because I can get on the driver's side since that garage has like 6" of space on the left if I pull forward. The left side of the garage is mine, and the right side is my sister in law's.
