Fly Fishing alone is almost a must. Some of my best fish/camp setups have been alone. Wake at dawn, coffee, bathroom, fish until noon, back to camp, lunch, nap, back on river, fish well past dark, back to camp, fire, dinner, alcohol, sleep. Repeat as necessary. I have had fun with people to, just not as much. When you hear things in the woods when you are alone it is way more scary.

This thread (sex robots aside) has certainly given me a lot to think about today. I’ve had lots of good times camping and travelling with others, but an equal amount travelling alone, which I often did for work over the years, as well as for recreation when I wasn’t attached. I think a balance of both is best if you can achieve that.

    I would say these things:

    - I have had more fun and hilarity camping and travelling with others.

    - I have had more profound and meaningful experiences travelling alone.

    - I have solidified friendships travelling with others.

    - I have enjoyed meeting new people more travelling alone.

    - I have been taken to amazing places I wouldn’t have otherwise gone travelling with others.

    - I have never argued with myself about aspects of the journey travelling alone, which has allowed me to spend endless hours pursuing some goal that someone else might find trivial or annoying.

The only reason why you have never argued with yourself is because you are one of those who gives in too easily. If you always agree, then both of you are often wrong.:bananadance:

Exactly this. Last year 8 of us were supposed to all go wheel Moab for a week. Only 1 other person eventually showed up. The two of us had an entire camp ground to ourselves and we had a blast. I have also been camping by myself. Got scared at night. Lol.

Where I live all the pigeons are flo-formed. Much stronger than the forged variety.

Lol. I know Chivas. Went camping at Holcomb Valley in Big Bear this past weekend, and met another Tacoma owner who went solo.

Here’s the thing. I’m 1/2 Asian, and a gene was handed down to me. The neck of a corona has me WGW AND topless 3 campsites down. I don’t drink except for those rare occasions where I need to get arrested.

I thought the same thing. Forging pigeons? Waste of time. Cast.

Still. It was a hillbilly Vegas.

I solo hunt a lot through different seasons so, usually I camp alone for 3-7 days however many times I can get away with a month through the season. At the end of the season I burned out and about this time of year I’m excited to get back to it. It’s a vicious cycle.

FYI: If your robot rides shotgun, you gotta pay for another admission in the state parks.
