Ok done now and a little update on the final result .
    Truck has about 140kM
Previous owner never did a change of atf because his toyota dealer told him that it isn't necessary
Truck always had hesitation to shift to first gear when coming to a quick stop
Truck failed 5 times to shift in 4 or 5 gear and had to switch off car to reset
Did a change now and when opened drain first time 1.5Quart came out (should be 3)
    Flushed with two gallons.
    Filled first time with 2Quarts
Had to add in 0.5Q steps 2 additional quarts of atf
At the end I estimate that 0.4Q came out of the check port

Last but not least... a big thank you to BillsSR5

Will update if the transmission works now like it should.

I'm at 144k and I want to change the tranny fluid bad, but I have no clue if the previous owner ever did it. So kinda in the debating mindset right now.

    I bought it at 142k

I would really its a transfer, the flush is where u use a cleaner in the trans this way just exchanges the fluid, mines getting done at 116k miles never been fully flushed

Just Made 5 mile test ride...and wow the truck is like changed.
Shifts faster but still smoother, was not able to get the shift hesitation when breaking fast to get to a stop (tried it at least 6 times), in general the whole truck feels like it is much faster now and more responsive (drove it until now like a old granny) and on top I think scan gauge shows at least one 1mpg better mileage.

Maybe I am just delusional because of all the work doing it and hoping for a good outcome, but I don't thinks so.

Will keep you update after some longer normal driving

Or maybe it is just this way because I didn't install the heavy skidplates yet:confused:

I changed my old fluid, then replaced it again 5,000 miles later to get rid of any gunk that the new fluid may have stirred up. Zero issues.

A toyo tech said the only way THEY can do it is through flushing the system. I got that done at like 280 or 290k. It was supposed to be an every 100k thing. I paid about $300 for it. I'm sitting okay now about 30k later.

no 2.7l 4 speed is T-VI or MOBIL JWS 3309 whatevers cheaper, theres other aftermarket equivilents but I don't trust using them, both WS and T-IV are made by MOBIL,the aftermarkets are reversed engineered clones although majority seem to work

Had my fluid checked by the stealership at just over 100k. The tech said it looked like it could use a change so I went through with it. No problems at all.

if you contact some of the Iffy lubes or Aamco trans places they can do it for you, and they will use your own ATF fluid, theres an Aamco near me that also stocks AMSOIL ATF if you want to use that, I had one done at a Toyota dealers was little over $100 with a sale coupon they used a BG machine

I was just curious what a dealer would charge. I thought they only did a pan dump, 3 qts worth.
I didn’t think they would do the total 11 qts.

The only other advise I can add is buy one of those OBDII readers for your smartphone so you can do the transmission temperature easily without check mode jumper nonsense. Still not sure on correct temperature for mine but I did 110 degrees the last time for the fluid level check.
