They always feel peppier, historically the interior always feels a bit cheaper.

Ground clearance is reduced because of the low slung frame compared to all Toyotas, specifically toyotas before 2022/23.

The titan 5.6 never really took off because the Tundra 5.7 came along and stole all the buyers.

Frontiers never had the buyer base that tacoma had, the newest frontier was substantially better than the 3rd gen tacoma, but the 4th gen tacoma so far feels better than the dated frontier platform.

Few years ago I was shopping for a decent fullsize and decided to test drive a titan xd w/ the cummins. it was freaking amazing. I liked everything about it...except the reviews.

I had two frontiers, both 2019 (auto and manual). The 4.0L that they have feels MUCH better than the 3.5L on the 3rd gen. That comparison is why I despise the 3rd gen motor so much.

That said, buying Frontiers at the end of the model run was a mistake in my experience - both trucks had significant quality control issues. A brake line unthreaded from the ABS module on one of them, fit and finish of panels wasn’t good, interior panels rattled, one of the trucks had the cluster start flickering. Overall I think the older Frontier was a fantastic platform but I think the tooling for body stuff was worn out. The drivetrains were super solid and with how good the engine felt and the reliability track record, I think it beat the Toyota drivetrain hands down.

That said, the Tacoma overall has been a better quality truck, so I’ve stuck with it.

With the newer Frontier, I would never buy one of those. They reused so much from the old model and then called it all new. That was the laziest “upgrade” ever…after 17 years of the previous gen, they could have done a lot more than they did. It would be one thing if the price reflected what they did, but the prices have skyrocketed from what they used to be, and so now in my mind there is no reason to buy one.

Under rated. I have a Sheriff deputy friend who drove a 2013 Titan for his work truck for 12 years and over 200,000 miles. He recently retired and the truck is still in service with another deputy. Never any issues.

My brother has a 2018 or 2019 Frontier that he likes a LOT.

I will add. Those are the ONLY things made by Nissan that I'd touch.

A Nissan pickup is what you buy when a Ram doesn't depreciate fast enough for you.

I figured, I heard there are lots of recalls on Titan, or was since its gone. I think I would have given it a try thought, it seemed like one of those weird out of ordinary trucks. I would still give a try if I knew it existed when I bought Taco lol

I wouldn't mind having a regular cab Titan with an 8' bed or a Tundra in the same configuration.

Crappy 2 pinion lockers. They were okay after they fixed that with 4 pinions. Definitely an oversight at first.
