If you can, let us know how this works out. The halo is wired as a “parking light” from what I can tell. But the DRL is also the turn signal. How is that going to work, the halo will blink with the turn signal? Or can you keep that from happening?

I’m ready for Tacomabeast to lose the exclusive on the 05-11 models. Hoping price will come down quite a bit.

The PIAA bulbs I ordered were scheduled to be delivered yesterday, then today, now USPS has the dreaded “delayed” status and there’s a big gap between scans. They might be lost lol

Looks great. Protuninglab offers a relay resistance harness with the lights for $20. Did you get That? If you don't have that do the turn signals just hyper flash?

Got mine from Tacomabeast. No hyper flash. I'm not running LED directionals, so there's no reason to have a hyper flash.

I found an 8mm rachet much easier to adjust these than a screwdriver.

Those look AWESOME !!! Have you tried them out at night yet? How's the cutoff ? Do you have any night pictures ? What did you wire the led tube to ? Compare them to your originals, do they throw more light down the road, the same or less ?? More info would be appreciated cause I want to get these. :spending:

I'll try and get you some night pics. The cutoff is good, very similar to griffin407c's post. The LED tube comes pre-wired and goes into the sidemarker/parking light socket. They throw a wider spread and the projector gives it more light.

I don't have a before picture of the light but I'll take a picture of it next time I'm on the road at night.

I appreciate all the info in this thread. Anybody go with the smoked version? I was just wondering if the light would be diminished through the smoked lens

My headlights are now installed and I thought I'd add some information for those still researching. Apparently these are available from several different vendors. I ordered mine from OEMassive and they came with the standard blinker bulb and H9 Headlight Bulb (what's included seems to be vendor dependent). The LED "halo" operates off the side-marker light connector, therefore the LED halo does not operate with the the DTRL's when the control stalk is set to DTRL. The halo is only on when the headlight control stalk is in Parking Lights and Headlights.

The shipping box had the following information:
    Part Number: PRO-JH-TTA12-LBDRL-BK
    SKU: 181612
    WAND Group Part: P1TTA12BK
    UPC Code: 840960181612
    Patent: D791987
Label: WAND Group Inc., Los Angeles, C/NO 2120, MADE IN TAIWAN
Label: AKKON Support 1-626-657-0951, email: cs.akkon@gmail.com

I also installed V-LEDS Triton V6 switchbacks, which had been on back-order since October. There were a few bumps installing those into these housings as the turn signal base was slightly different and I needed to install a 1" C-clip behind the gasket to secure the bulb into the socket. You need to use the socket base from the factory turn signals to get the switchbacks to operate properly. The socket base that is included with the new headlights was unable to operate the switchbacks in DTRL mode.

I put together a quick video on how these headlights operate with the switchbacks:

Also of note, the true DTRL lights will NOT come on unless your parking brake is off. It took me a bit to figure this out as I was on hill and have a manual 6 speed. On the bright side, my wiring is 100% quadruple checked. :anonymous:. Now we'll just have to wait and see how these lights hold up.

    (edit for innovative spelling)
