Awesome thank you, definitely going with the smoked. What bulbs are you using? I was thinking about going with HID 5500k but not sure if we use H1/H9/H11?

I believe it's an H9 bulb. I have the DDM 5500k 50w HID kit which fits h8 h9 h11 bulbs. Just got it so haven't installed yet

I’ll try to get some later this evening against my house. I’m assuming that’s the correct distance for aiming? I’ve never actually done it before hence why I haven’t aimed these. Still had some research to do on the process. One thing I have noticed with the way the lights are designed is that you don’t get much light output towards the ditches on bright like you do with factory. It’s all focused ahead of the truck. You can see the led strip light against the trees though.

Yeah thats the proper distance, 25ft away from a flat wall, the light should be focused 4 ft off the ground. Ive read that the lights are somewhat crosseyed, im sure they require fine tuning. They look like they have descent output.

Completely off topic but where did you get your grill from?? I saw one that looked almost identical for about $200 on eBay but it’s not on there anymore.

Is the reflector portion the high beams? I think these would look way better if you blacked out the blinker portion and the other reflective portion but if thats the high beam then that would be a sacrifice. Wish they made the 2.5 gen ones for the 2nd gen. these ones... [IMG]

Yes the reflector is the high beam. I think I know why they smay not to use led or hid bulbs. You wouldnt be able to put the plug seals on if you did therefor risking condensation. Or you would have to modify the seal and power connections.20181208_135658_HDR.jpg

Went out and got some night shots, only had to do some minor adjustments in aim (as good as it gets).

    My initial thoughts,

Its nice to have a light cutoff on the low beams. Even tho these are halogen projectors they are still better then my blinding led setup.

A proper HID projector setup would have much better light output and a cleaner cut off.
I really like the modern look to these lights, the LED dtrl strip is actually pretty bright at night.

The high beam reflectors work well directly infront of the vehicle. They leave much to be desired for peripheral lighting, I could see where a pair of ditch lights would help tremendously.

Final thought, I may eventually do a HID swap on these, but I think I need to do ALOT more research before I dabble into that. I will be upgrading my fog lights next month when Baja Designs releases thier new DOT fog lights. The LED bulbs glare a ton in the factory fog housings.

Heres some night shots, I have yet to see too many output pictures of these headlights, so Ill try to contribute.

Bulbs are Osram Night Breaker Unlimited halogens, both High and Low beam.

The beamtech led lights I listed a few pages back are perfect because the seal fits over them. i had a hard time finding ones that would fit due to the fan on the back of the leds but they’ve worked perfectly for me for over a year so far

Do you have any photos of the output at night? I’m debating getting these or HID, but still trying to find out if the HID would get too hot for the housing and would fit in the housing without any modifications and letting moisture inside.

How do the hid bulbs fit? I’m considering getting these but not wanting to modify the dust cover and risk getting moisture inside the housing. Do you have any pictures of light output from these as well?
