Dealer did mine no problem. I always wear it but don't put it on until I am rolling. So initial start is y I got rid of it.

Does the method here work on the passenger seat as well? I don't enjoy listening to the ding all that much if I have a heavy load sitting on the front seat. <please don't insert wife/girlfriend comment here>

Sorry I should have said the brake, on, off, buckle, unbuckle, do the hokey pokey method. I will think about the dummy buckles as a solution for when I have stuff sitting on the front seat.

I think the "method" was just a hoax,

I tried it 3 times in my 2013 RC and no dice,

Looks like it's time to pull the spring out of my buckle,

No hoax. It just worked for me. It seems to work for some and not others.

ok then at the end of the steps, what did you do?

it says to buckle the passenger seat belt, then start car with seat belt on.

So did you put on your seat belt after buckling the passenger belt before starting the car?

No. Just unbuckle driver seat belt and buckle passenger then start. Leave driver side off.
