Does anyone know what this is? Not anything important

I'll go ahead and apologize, I know very little about automobiles. Anyway, I noticed this wierd little thing behind my rear left seat in my tacoma. It looks sorta like someone placed a cupholder behind the seat as a joke, but it's not meant to hold cups. It's a 2012 prerunner if it matters. I tried to attach a picture but couldn't get it to work.

 

I think I now what your talking about, and it is used to hold flashlights. A maglite fits perfectly

When I put my double A Maglite there, it just drops right through.

I have an open case with Toyota corporate over this. Very mad about it.
