Have driven manuals many more miles and years than I've driven automatics. But now at 54 years of age and with arthritic knees and living in one of the most heavily populated (people and cars) areas of the country, causing stop and go traffic quite often.... AT it is.

Nice truck. I parked next to one in Bend the other day. I'm warming up to the looks.

    IMO, and just MY OPINION.

You need to really read between the lines when it comes to forum posts complaining about the truck. I am on many vehicle forums, and owned many vehicles. Some will have genuine problems, and some just like to complain. I'm betting they are the same in every facet of their life.

Some folks are so OCD to the point, that there is simply no perfect vehicle. A minor nitpick to most will turn into a major lemon law issue for them. I don't fault these folks at all, since it really is a condition -- but I feel bad for the service department. I remember a good friend of mine who would go back to his dealer every other day for 'warranty' issues; from rattles, to molded lines in plastics, to the engine making noises... There is simply no way to make a perfect vehicle for these kind of people.

This is one of the reasons why I want to drive a 'vibrating' truck. I find it hard to believe that there are guys out there who says the truck makes their hands and feet numb, and every truck they drive on the lot is the same. I mean really... Toyota has sold tons of these and I can see just a handful of 'screamers' in the vibration thread, and there are many happy owners just enjoying the truck.

Done it twice so far on a residential road. Had it in the shop twice so far, yesterday being the last time I had them look at it. Couldn't replicate the problem and they checked the trans fluid and it's fine they said. This is my only issue and otherwise I'm very happy with the truck.

Just curious, are you certain it's not just a slip, but the transmission actually kicks into neutral?

As in, you need to move the lever from neutral back to D?

+- 2% Love it so much, they join or lurk on forums like this
    .1% have issues
.025% post their issues on forums like this

I made those numbers up, but I think they are close estimates.

Truck is an auto, was in drive, was going town the street, hit the gas to go faster and it slipped into neutral and rev'd with no power, then slipped back into gear. Has done this twice so far. I never had the shifter out of 'Drive'.

You forgot to factor in the people that are on here who complain about them, but actually don't own a 3rd Gen.

People that don't own a 3rd gen and complain are going off the specs, test drives and looks of the truck...all legitimate things to debate and are entitled to their opinion.

".1% have issues" That's insanely delusional.

Ok..... Haah I thogit your shifter is moving into neutral ...... I was like wtf ??

For the transmission to slip I believe it can happen. Sometimes when I get on it I hear the engine rev a bit and no go.... Then it catches. Maybe I need fluid too.

We know that some owners are experiencing issues, and those issues are well documented in other threads on the forum. THIS thread is asking about people who actually LIKE their truck. If you are unhappy with yours - there are plenty of other threads for you. How about letting folks who like theirs continue the conversation?

My truck was my first new vehicle ever, it's all I could have hoped for and more. Comfortable, looks badass on the outside, clean well done interior, decent mpg 4x4. I love it
