Does anyone regret modding?

Oh yeah I love Bilsteins, but now I’m looking at new upper a arms, coil overs, rear suspension etc etc. Sure I could piece it together over time, but I wish I would have just gotten a whole kit from the beginning

 

Seems like there should be different nomenclature for what people do. We used to differentiate between mods v. adds on the forum for the little shitbox hatch I used to have.

Anything OEM, bolt-on, proportional, or basic (tint, wheels, seat covers, etc.) was an add.

Anything requiring minor to major fabrication or bespoke re-engineering (repurposing a lift kit meant for something else and installing an air system, rewiring stuff to include a kill switch, etc.) was a mod.

There are gray areas of course...

My only regret is reading this forum every day.......every time I finish the mod, there are 5 more added to my list.

In all honesty I think it truly depends on the mods you do. For me, I plan on doing minor helpful mods like remote start, in cab outlet, maybe fog light anytime mod, and bumper LED light bar. I don't go off roading in the least bit so adding a lift and monster tires wouldn't help me in the least bit. Don't get me wrong, if you like it, go for it. For my tastes that's not money well spent. But to each their own.

I don’t regret modding my trucks. I’ve done zero for looks and all for usability. It is nice to have a vehicle that’s mostly mechanically stock in addition to something you can heavily mod.
