Does it makes sense to sell a 3rd gen and buy a 2nd gen?

The Camry is great, it’s a 2014 SE. my first main car was a 1993 Camry LE 4 cyl. Great reliable car but it was boring, unusually slow, and just a Camry. The 14 is actually somewhat fun to drive.

The Jeep is a 2019 JLU sport. The primary reason it is a money pit the the desire to modify it. It’s made to modified and each modification leads to needing more modification. Currently trying to regear as the 35’s that fit no problem with the 3.5” lift have rendered the stock gearing on the 6 sp mt unbearably sluggish. It has had numerous problems so far in the 1 1/2 year we have had it, especially compared to my truck or Camry. There was period of time the entire electronic control panel would not turn on for about 4 to 5 minutes when starting it. No joke. No AC or radio at all for a short trip and then it’d turn on when you are parking and about to turn it off. It just mysteriously went away after 3 trips to the dealership who claimed “that’s how it is!” Seriously drive to the grocery store near home and no AC the whole way there.. also, the drivers door has rust growing under the paint. It’s a year and a half old. I wash it weekly and it lives in the garage.. explain that.

Also, the manual transmission is horribly disappointing. The clutch pedal is so soft you can’t tell what it’s doing. There are all sorts of electronic “enhancements” that apparently make it easier for people who don’t know how to drive stick, to drive stick. It’s so weird. I’ll be the last to admit that the thing is an animal off-road. It looks nice though. Oh well.

    Still thinking about it.
That’s a bummer... aside from the ‘mission creep’ of endless Jeep mods, the original price of one of those is pretty high itself, right? I wonder if those quality control issues are typical.

Not sure what's going on in the thread, but there are a lot of really nice GX 470s and land cruisers selling for great prices some are even under 10k.

Whereas 4runners, FJ Cruisers, Tacoma and Tundras with the same mileage and condition are selling for a lot more.

    I am not sure why.

I think I could sell my Tacoma for 34k as is.

10k for GX 470 plus 33 wheels and life looks to be around 15K all in.
