Worse breakover, and larger turning circle.

We have to stop and wait all the time for friends with DCLBs on the tighter trails with a lot of switchbacks :D

The Long Bed is great if you want to drive something that resembles this:
    wienermobile_billboard_jpg.png

The short bed is a better option if you want to roll like this:

    Now where's @jsinnard

Only because they are the ones carrying all your gear that won't fit in your "cute" little bed. :infantry:

I own a DCLB, and when I had a loaner DCSB for a couple days there are two things I noticed.

    1) Turning radius, wow I felt like I was driving a razor scooter.
    2) Smoothness of the ride. I feel like the DCLB smoothes out the bumps better than the shorter wheelbase, especially over 30 mph.

Do either of things relate to driving skill? No.

Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
It's tough getting the DCSB through there.

"Chicks dig the long bed" :D

When shopping for my Tacoma my wife who knows nothing about vehicles said in reference to a DCSB we were looking at:

"This one looks short and useless."

Nope. I fit my wife and daughter, 3 dogs and all our gear for a 2-3 night camping trip in my tiny shortbed :p
But these days, we are glamping more, and my wife wants to drive her 4runner, so we take two vehicles up, drop all the gear off at the campsite, then go wheeling, so my bed is usually empty anyway unless we are arriving or leaving.

Just tougher in mini mall parking lots. The back-up camera makes life easy. Its easier to back into a space with the camera and that makes easier to pull out too.

Not really. For reference, I traded in a Fiat 500 and 2007 Ram Quad Cab for my '12 DCSB.

Oh, and I used to drive these:
    [IMG]1985 Grumman Pumper

    [IMG]1953 Kaiser 2 1/2 Ton 6x6

Those required a little more skill to drive.
