Two weeks ago I removed my K&N CAI on my Taco because I was tired of my intake temps hitting 139 degree while sitting at a stop light in 80 degree weather. Replaced it with the TRD CAI and in 90 degree temps my intake temps have never gone higher that 113 degrees...

Intake has no bearing on how an engine turns over. The throttle plate is in the same spot, regardless of intake, and when in normal operation, it is the sole item that is responsible for pumping loss of the engine.

To add.....Your mind would be blown at the amount of R&D money thrown at new vehicles. The OEM intake is NOT as restrictive as most think. It IS in fact a "Cold Air" intake, and tuned to the engine its mounted on. An new engine has to be as efficient as possible for EPA kudos, so a manufacture isnt going to throw a bullshit intake on it, if it causes the engine to run below peak performance. That all being said, Im closing this thread to prevent future butt hurt.
