    Thanks for your reply. I agree that obviously thicker is stronger, but that's a risk the owner should take (as long as he understands that nothing is fool proof). If I was doing street parking in Los Angeles, then yeah I would go with the thicker shield, but I'm not. And most are not. Since you have the design do both.
