Does my 2016 Limited has a tow pacakge?

I just purchased a used 2016 Tacoma limited. I posted an earlier post about the aftermarket wiring harness for towing that was installed. The Toyota dealer told me that my tow hitch is factory, but my truck didn't come with a wiring harness, so the previous owner installed a harness (he said i have both the 4 pin connector and a round connector, a better harness than OEM). I am curious whether it was possible to have the hitch with no harness when purchasing the Limited in 2016 new? Also does this mean my truck doesn't come with the tow package?

I am asking because I am thinking of installing the brake controller, with the tow package, it seems to be a simply installation (just need to plug it into the existing connectors), but without the tow package, it seems to be a much bigger job.

Pretty sure all Limited's come standard with the tow package.

 

And what dipshit sales guy told you they swapped out the oem harness for an aftermarket one cause its "better"

Is there a square hole possibly with a plug/cover over it below the rear bumper?

 

Not sure if the limited was different, but from my understanding the tow package wasn't automatically included on 2016/17s. It became standard on 2018s and up.

I can see the harness and connectors (with cover) below the rear bumper, but it is aftermarket for sure.

right, you think the top trim would have the tow package as standard equipment
