Adding my comments late but I like it, I'm looking for a used one for mine right now. I use the rack & I like how the cross bars will fold out of the way when not in use.
Anyone selling one or know of a Tacoma in a slavage yard to buy it off of?
    Thanks

I personally am not a fan of the tacoma roof racks. Nissan racks are sick and the racks on the FJ's are cool. I have seen some after market ones which i liked a little better. :D

I have that rack and I ordered it with the truck new because I need a rack to carry my canoe about 60 days a year. The rack is weak. When you crank the canoe down on the rack it bends the rack along the 4 points where the cheesy plastic cross bar ends connect to the metal. Bent to the point where they would not lock into place over time. I had to add a Thule 450 CrossRoad to the setup. Leaving the rack in the stowed position and using the Thule has solved the problem. You could crank the canoe down on the Thule all you want and never bend it. If I had to do it again I would not buy this OEM rack.

I'm not a fan of them. All that matters is if you like them or not. IMO- I don't see the point of having it on a truck & you would probably never use it for its intentions. Put them on ebay, use the money for a better mod.:)

I say keep it on there! You could always jerry-rig a light bar of some sort on top for those off-roading experiences you're dying for. At least some day in the near future. [IMG]

a kitten? Go ahead! I don't like them anyways. I used to shoot cats with a bebe gun as a kid. Perhaps I can join you. Remember, if you can't beat them...join them. Poor cat!
