Does my tacoma have a oil cooler

    Hey i have a 1999 tacoma 4x4 ext. cab. looking to get my timing belt kit but don't know if my truck has an oil cooler or not. does anybody know how to tell without taking the timing covers off and checking the water pump?

    Look at your water pump. Does it have a nipple by the thermostat housing with a rubber hose feeding the driver side block?

    Drivers side of motor have one of these? Thats the oil cooler

    Not only do you have an oil cooler, but looks like you have an oil leak, too.

    And rust: Lots of rust on them thar control arms...

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
    Oil cooler o-rings and seals eventually leak.

    Then you can get new seals.

    And experience the joy of getting them back on while keeping the o-ring seal in the right position.

    That’s oily undercoating not engine oil lol. Just surface rust there the real rust was on the rear frame..

    Thanks for your input. It’s undercoating not engine oil... I live 10 kms from the ocean and in a province that uses lots of salt in the winter. surface rust underneath a 20 year old truck is nothing where I’m from.
