PO installed a shackle flip kit, I am currently working with Deaver Springs to build me new leaf packs. based on my current weight Deaver has decided that the U402 Expedition series springs /Stage 3 would be best.

My question for those with a shackle flip - does the leaf pack length (eye to eye) stay the same whether you have a shackle flip or in its stock configuration? or do i need to order/have built longer leaf packs due to the shackle flip?

I will require leaf packs with a 4 inch lift due to my BDS 6" lift ( below is the current setup configuration from the PO)

I will be removing the current bump stop system (PO Installed) and replacing it with a Archive Garage stage 5 system on the leaf packs and re installing the factory plate that attaches to the frame

No change, I had a similar setup and went back to stock geometry with BAMF hangers. Much more stability and feels more solid. I think the inverted shackle work well up to a certain capacity then become detrimental. If you deaver stage 3 then you may be there. Just my opinion.

Appreciate the input Zippsub9 , so since I am basically rebuilding the rear suspension, you would advise removing the shackle flip kit and install BAMF hangers, go with the DEAVER U402 Stage 3's - now to see if DEAVer can produce the Stage 3's with 4" of lift

yes, I think it is even more important given your lift. A rear brace tying the hangers together would help also but the deavers are stout and worth it. You may be able to seek out archive hammer hangers with lift and avoid the deaver 4” lift. I only recommended BAMF because of stock geometry. Archive offers lift and a cross brace. Both are great products and people.

From what I understand there is something to it. If if you check installation instructions for a shackle flip, there is something about drilling holes closer to the axle in order to achieve proper shackle angle with OME Dakar leaf pack. Not the case with some other leaf packs

Thanks good to know, Based on some of the things I have read regarding the negative results of a shackle flip, I will plan on removing my current shackle flip setup and going with either Archive garage or BAMF HD Shackle hangers

Just want the best possible end result, this is not a rock crawler so the full droop concept is not important to me
