I was being facetious. My reply was playing off of someone else implying that only a douche would purchase this vehicle.

Looks aside (although I do think it looks...interesting), if the truck’s specs are are accurate, then to me it crushes any other truck on the market and it’s a no-brainer of a purchase.

If that question was directed at me, I’d say slim to none. But I don’t off road so it’s a moot point. However, I agree that the vehicle might not be ideal for someone who does.

Everythang will resemble the concept some day but it's a good bet the production truck will resemble the cars.

i.e. Actually, not bad. Not as bad as a thir.....ah, forget it. Too easy.

Check out the number of Tesla charging stations at the Fred Meyer in Monroe WA. The number is not at all commensurate with the demographics of the town itself.

Just planned obsolesce. Tesla can't even supply parts for some of it's older models. Plus you're lockstep with them all the way on service and parts.

Exactly this, this is all a leverage ploy. And for the looks the final version will look nothing like what we see. Yes Musk may have smoked a joint or two in his day but he’s not that high!

There is no denying the numbers for the 3 battery... 14k towing capacity with 500 mile range, that’s beyond incredible

Other Teslas sit low to the ground, so I'd guess this won't be a lot different. Don't think off road is happening with this

It might be a better risk than the tens of thousands who put down a deposit on an Elio.

He breaks the bullet proof glass with a ball bearing, I'm sorry, this thing is crap, just like the cars. If it makes it to market, it will look nothing like this truck, won't have that 500 mile range, will kill people in auto drive mode.
Perfect, just because it's "green" people will sell their balls to have one, oh most of you think that's ok, sorry. What about parts? Can't get some for the cars now, wtf? Still need a coal powered power plant to run this thing, how is this even remotely good?

It's not bullet proof glass. Bullet proof glass is super thick. Typically 1 to 3 inches thick. This glass was supposed to be more rugged and maybe it is but it's not indestructible as the name implies. I think their only mistake here was a marketing mistake claiming it was.

What would Tesla need to change for you to buy one? If Toyota released an electric Tacoma, what would it need for you to buy one? 5min charging? Over 9000 miles on a single charge? MSRP of $29k?

Honestly, a new way to charge these electrics, it’s still a coal fired power plant doing the same thing it always has. A fusion power plant would have me buying in seconds.....

So your complaint is CO2 emissions?

Fusion has been 50 years away for the last 50 years but there are several other forms of power generation that do have amazing reductions in emissions.

I found some 2017 research from the University of Michigan regarding the emissions of electric vehicles and how they get their energy. The best case scenario was 5100 mpg equivalent for hydro electric. The worst case scenario was coal fire power plants which equate to approximately 29mpg equivalent.

    Here is the abstract http://www.umich.edu/~umtriswt/PDF/SWT-2017-18_Abstract_English.pdf

I keep thinking tesla will crash. More market cap than ford and GM combined? That's crazy! They're building cars in a tent!!
