does electricity drain from the battery through the 12v electrical plug when the car is off? I live in a harsh environment and sometimes don't drive my 2011 tacoma for a day or so, so can't afford a dead battery, but it would work out nicely for my homemade stereo pre-amp rigging.

    Thanks!

No. The accessory plugs are only powered when the key is on. I use one of the plugs to power my Sirius receiver for this reason.

thanks maticuno! This is a home built pre-amp that I have to keep rebuilding and resoldering as the leads get tugged plugging and unplugging it constantly. If there's no danger of trickle draining the battery, this is going to be massively convenient.

Hey, love that 1977 truck pic. Love the power of my new tacoma, but still have a soft spot for classic vehicles....

In fact, saw a suped up nova down in denver this past weekend and couldn't take my eyes off it
