I've been looking to sell my 1st gen and get something newer and more modern, I notice the 2020 Colorado now joined the 18th century and has rear disc brakes, does the Tacoma have them yet?

You do realize that drum brakes were invented and used after disc brakes , which were the first brakes.
This makes drum brakes more modern. Toyota knows their shit.

Why would you want rear disk brakes on a truck? The point of drums is their improved performance under load and in excessively dirty connections. The combination of front disk and rear drum is a best of both worlds design.

My 2017 still has those drum brakes. No snorkel and no heated/power adjustable seats. No crawl control and no ENTUNE...NO LOCKERS, AND NO PUSH BUTTON START.

I perfer disc brakes because when I step on the brake pedal, I like to stop within feet not miles like drum brakes

    Pretty much.

Especially if I'm pulling a trailer.
