Does the Access cab have more useable rear seat storage than the Double cab?

I went from an Access cab to a Double cab.
We could store 6 medium sized rubbermaid bins and 6 small rubbermaid bins in the rear of the Access cab and still have a clear view out the rear window. Now, no matter how we arrange them, nor how I flip the rear seats in the Double cab, I can't store as much. The Access cab rear appears to have more useable storage. Emphasis on useable.

    Am I missing something?

The Double cab was only $1000 more than the Access cab, so I went for that. We don't have anyone in the rear of the Double cab, just like we never had anyone in the rear of the Access Cab.

I don't really want to remove the rear seats, but I may end up doing that

Anyone put the Access cab seats in a Double cab? That would be a perfect solution.

Ask your back seat passengers if there's a difference .

If you aren’t putting anyone in the rear seats then take them out and watch your storage space double. Make a platform for a flat surface as well

The AC is more usable for me and my daughters don't hate it back there.

The rear seats are supple, if you’re looking for storage then take one or both sections of the rear seats out. Just unbolt and get a lot more space.

That is what I am talking about: That flat rear floor of the Access Cab is MUCH more useful than the Double Cab rear floor. The amount of storage space back there is large. Not so with the Double cab.

If the Double cab came with the Access cab rear seats ...

I built a dog platform for my Access Cab. This may give you some ideas for more useable space for your Double Cab.

Just take the seats out of the double cab and you will have way more space than an access cab.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
I've been doing it wrong this whole time!

No but really, I'm low key disappointed with the double cab's rear cargo space. If I had to do it all over again, I'd happily rock the access cab just like my old man's 2021 and my brother's 2003.

I fit toolboxes behind both my rear AC seats. Can put an ice chest behind one and the dog behind the other just fine. I wanted 6 feet of bed space to sleep in not more seats for passengers I don’t want anyway. DCLB is a land limo that won’t fit in a lot of garages and looks weird. Buy the wife a minivan/suv and a truck for yourself. Probably why I’m not married though. YMMV.

It looks like you are doing it just fine. I'm to lazy to deal with straps. Hahaha!

    The Dewalt boxes are sweet.

Hey you all I need some help here, I found the rear seats from a 2008 for my access cab, and there is one small cover missing, and I can't for the life of me figure out the part number. I have been trying all the sites, and was able to find the larger rear panel, which is number 23 in the picture, but what I need is the small cover, number 24. I have included a picture of the actual seat too. That said, let me know if anyone wants the old 2011 flip seats, I'd let them go, with the box underneath for $150, plus shipping. $100 if you pick it up.

Will a 3rd Gen AC rear seats/assembly fit into a 3rd Gen DC? Are the rear walls inside the cab the same?
I would like to maintain at least some seating should I ever need it.

I have to admit I thought the Regular Cab was king with the 6' bed, but the Access Cab has more room and looses nothing in bed length. Win/Win.
    Access Cab best cab! :humble:

Ok, so I found it and have installed the back seat, the part cost around $30, but it will arrive tomorrow... here is a pic, and the Gen 2 rear seat from a 2011 is available to whomever would like it...
