Does the GPS update to the latest data or not? IS there a place to buy new?

No, that link is to update the firmware. It doesn't update the map data. The mapping is not real time, like waze. The maps are on a SD card that inserts in the front of the head unit. As a consequence, even the latest SD card is months old information. Hell, I-4 in Orlando changes weekly.

 

On the front of the head unit, under a little pry off cover. I don't know how hard it is to get the little cover off as I've had no reason to mess with it yet.
