Mine has developed the timing cover leak and I’m wondering if it would be there if using 5w20 instead of 0w20. Does the non US 3.5 on 0W20 have this issue?

The weight of the oil doesn’t matter if the mating surfaces are not an intimate contact with each other you’re going to have a leak.

Sorry, but I don't know the answer to your main question. The oil is at the 0 / 5 weight for a very short time while driving. It is measured at 0F. 20 weight is measured at 210F. At running temp it is going to have a viscosity similar to the 0 / 5 weight.

All points taken and understood. Just wondering though if the leak is in fact common on 5/20.

As stated above viscosity wouldn't make a difference.

Viscosity doesn't make a difference. And what do you mean by "non-US"? All the 3.5 engines are built in Alabama.
