wondering if I can take the 130amp alternator out of a 2005 to 2015 wrecked V6 Tacoma (1GR engine with tow package) and bolt on a 4banger.
I realize the need to upgrade wiring which is a non concern. I want to know if the belt and bolts etc would fit...

Any input or anyone possibly done this?

I know it is mounted on the other side of the engine but can it still fit?

Why do you think you need a bigger alternator? I run an electro-hydraulic snow plow pump on mine, no issue with providing adequate power from the factory alternator.

My problem is mainly from my sub which is 600 watts which in terms of subs isn't that much but I do get flickers when I'm at idle. I also have a bunch of lights too lol

Flickers? Probably a wiring problem, not alternator inadequacy. If your battery was being depleted, then you'd look at whether or not the alternator is able to keep up, but the battery should be adequate to keep your audio going without making the car flicker. Try wiring the sub straight up to the battery temporarily, to see if the "flicker" goes away. If it does, then you need to focus on the balance of the circuit.

    power / voltage = current.
600/12 = 50 amps. This is the PEAK current that your amplifier can ever draw when the volume is cranked up high enough to cause you to go deaf. That is considerably less than your alternator's output. Add to that, that your battery can dump out several HUNDRED amps, and you should not be experiencing any flickering.

Same as the standard V6 alt. Tow package gets 130amps and both fit so...

So you want to see if you can spend some money for no reason?

If you don't want to answer the dudes question that's fine, move on. He doesn't owe you any explanations.

That you're being a dick for no reason. He asked for help with a question, not an analytical assessment of why he's asking it.

Dude! Either help or leave. I don't have to justify nothing to you, with all due respect.

But if you must know it's because I need more than 70amps so I don't run my battery down all the time

You don't think it would be a better idea to solve the issue that is overdrawing your charging system than to throw more current at it?
