Just bought a 2001 tacoma and am remodeling the front end with new headlights and swapping the chrome bumper and trim for black.

This is the bumper I'm putting on.

The metal bumper portion of it is primer black.

I'm going for black, so do you think I can just leave it as is?

Or should I paint it before installing to protect it from rust, etc.?
