I wish the volume and song select were on the right and control nav was on the left... But yes, they should also have volume up and down, lol.

Being left-handed, I actually don't mind that as much but I could totally see that bothering me too.

Only thing I miss about my Jeep was the redundant volume control on the backside of the steering wheel.

It's intended to match the display, where playlist / radio station list goes up-down, while the volume slider goes left-right.

I thought this was cleared up before stating that it was done this way due to how the radio UI is. On the radio the volume bar increases left to right, while the radio stations are listed one above another.

They probably just wanted to keep them the same to match the UI, for us OCD folks, lol.

EDIT: The post above just beat me to it, someone types faster, lol.

Ah very interesting, shows how close I pay attention to the radio UI lol. Thanks for clarifying it for me. I still want to change it though lol.

I’m coming from an accord so it’s been weird. I still love my new truck very much though. :)

Haha I photoshopped it hence my apology for the poor shop.

You’ll get used to it, I went from a 2013 limited 4Runner that had it the “correct” way to this truck... hated it at first. Months will pass and you’ll find something else you’ll worry about more, lol.

Agree. Volume should be up/down...universal thinking.

Subaru does their controls right. How come Toyota thought this was normal?

I had a 2015 Tacoma and it was the correct Up & Down, took awhile to adjust to the 2017, don't know why they changed it.

The other thing I find anoying is the intermetent windshield wiper function. One would think a smaller dash line on the control twister knob would mean less time between wipers across the windshield

I rented a 2018 corolla which has entune and the volume UI is the same as the Tacoma. However the volume buttons are up and down. So it’s still not clear why Toyota did this.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
Every vehicle I have had up to the Tacoma, had volume up and down as the up and down. Song selection was left and right.

More often than not, I’ll be about five songs ahead before I realize the volume isn’t increasing.

I hate it. Backward controls. Makes me want to pop it out and rotate it 90 degrees.

I wonder if you could just order the part from a other vehicle and plug it in. Toyotas are practically Legos.
