Does this look like a good upgrade?

I have an 07 Access cab 2.7 4x4. As she sits right now I have a 3'' leveling kit (spacer in the front aal in the rear). But I hate the ride. I was looking at getting 5100's in the rear and toy techs coil overs for the front cranked to 3'' and also removing my diff drop that is currently installed. Am I missing anything or am I good to go?

 

With the toytec's cranked at 3 inches the ride will definitely be better, but it'll still be pretty shitty.
I'd go with the fox 2.0's, they're around the same price and I guarantee they'll be a 10x better ride.
As for the rear, if you don't do a lot of off-roading or towing, just throw some blocks on there. It's cheap and it'll retain factory ride quality for the rear at least.
If you're into spending money, you could throw some dirt logic rear shocks or fox shocks on there, but if you aren't off-roading a lot, there's no need to.

 

Oops, your truck is a five lug isn't it? I'm not sure if fox makes the 2.0's for a 5 lug taco. They might, but I'm not positive.

 

Nope it is a 6 lug. and for the back there is already an aal from the leveling kit. Thanks for the info on the foxes. I will check those out and a lil more info I don't off road a lot but I do occasionally.

 

don't waste your money on Toytec coilovers.

first off, they're pretty much just Bilstein 5100's/Eibach coils which, bought separately, cuts the cost of this setup in half.

second, for the money you'll pay for those, you can shell out a little more and get professional coilovers like Icon, Fox, King, Sway-a-way, etc.

Don't forget that 5100's won't lift the rear any.

I am not looking for lifting the rear any since I already have the aal. All I want to do is get a lil bit better ride then I have now with the spacer. Unless the 5100's can't handle the aal?

One last question. Is there a way to get red coils on Icons?

 

You could take em off and have them powder coated, or you could take em off and spray them with some primer then with some high heat paint. I'd leave them alone though.
If you like red, look into the walker evans coilovers from all pro offroad. They are nice

I know function over form. But if I could get a good coil over that is red I will.

 

I believe Icon might have a option to get the coils in another color, but IMO it isn't worth the cost (i think they want ~$200)
