"My name is Lucas Borwn and am interested in purchasing your (item)
with no delay,but first? Is the price firm?Or how much are you taking?Will
you be accepting a US certified Check or money order? Contact me with the
present condition of the item and your contact information to mail out the
payment to you as soon as possible. Name you want on check: Home
Address:City: State:zip code: Country: Phone Number/Office Number so plz if
you are interested in selling your item to me reply to my ! E! mail
(lucasbrownn010@yahoo.com)"

spam. i got a lot of these fake messages when i listed an ad in craigslist.

 

More then SPAM...SCAM.

 

The certified check is the dead giveaway, oh I mean certified rubber check.

Who spells "E! mail" for email and who gives you there first and last name? I've never tried to sell anything on CL but I've always tried to buy things. My point is I've NEVER wrote a whole paragraph like that and tell the person I'm ready to buy right away. I think CL prices are almost always open to negotiating.

I think you should play around with him and get him to send the check and u send some crappy bike u found in the dumpster.

 

I can never sell anythign on Clist without having to wade through all the bullshit spam I get. not even worth it to me..

 

definitely a scam. as others have said, dead giveaway is "...interested in purchasing your (item)".

I'd write him back and ask him to learn how to properly use the canned scam bait e-mail before trying to rip people off.

 

i wont sell to anyone who wants to see my product sight unseen, or "without delay" or my favorite, "please remove your post because i definitely want to buy your item"

 

theres a new one now...they want to "make sure it's the item in the video" and link you to some fake youtubeish website that requires you to download some spyware
