the idea is a good 1...

but honestly from the photochop doesn't do you justice at all...gives you the basic overlook but doesn't give you the actual 3d model that you would need to see...

good luck bro and keep us posted....to each their own...

I'm sorry to say...I own a '72 bronco and it no way does it look like that...but I agree with the angled part looking like an old school roll bar/light bar...

Why in the world would anyone make a modification that loses out on being able to see out the back window?

I know, very few "real" trucks have back windows (semis), but the Tacoma is a pickup, just a pickup, with a back window.

Personally, I wouldn't trade being able to see out my back window for anything.

But if that's not a concern, who really cares what kind of tonneau you have?

You shouldn't be concerned what anyone else thinks at all.

i think if you take your time... do a good job on the frame and attach snaps so that it holds it nice and tight.. maybe put some hinges at the top front so you can pick it up to access the bed it would turn out pretty nice. it wont be for everyone but if you like the idea go for it!!! thats where everything started from in the first place anyways!

To people complaining about the back window we do have mirrors! Yes its a truck for carrying stuff. The stuff does block the back window. Thats what mirrors are for.

    I like the cover

Yeah, I FORGOT all about the back-up camera!

You're right, you can always substitute a 2.5" monitor fed from a fish-eye lens for looking out a 4' by 1' window! How could I miss that!

whats the big deal about blocking the back window?? my spare tire carrier blocks my view from the back, never had a problem with it. for those who cannot back up with mirrors then i would say dont do it... but short of that i see no reason to worry about blocking it.

Ayup. For that matter, in my DC, the rear headrests block my view! :D

This might help you decide. You should post various photoshop options. Even the stupid ones. I was in the process of installing my lift and I did the rear first so yes I know it's raked and it's lvl now.

To drive at highway speed with winds you might have to build some kind of light frame/brace or something so it doesn't flap.
