TSBs are warranty items. TSBs dont fall under safety. Recalls are done at anytime because they are safety related. A dealer can do a good faith fix if they want to, but are not required to.

Just a update. This weekend (if goes as planned) getting replacement springs. For both sides! For the cost of the cap on the back of the beast. Figured get my truck fixed on both sides and get rid of 200+ lbs. And the guy said he would install them. So ill be there to help him along cause if this happens again, (please don't) ill know how to fix it. Thanks for the help tho from everyone. Rope is still holding strong! Along with couple of clamps here and there.

To answer your question no I wouldn't drive that truck at all. And you said you work at a steel fab shop I'm sure you or some one you work with can fab up a set of leaf springs for cheap from a junkyard.

Leaf springs are made of spring metal. We don't carry that in our shop. But I have used a few to some what band aid the leaf. I can't make skid plates or a front and rear bumper there.
