does weight of gas reduce your payload?

    I have never ever heard of anyone worrying about the weight of the fuel in their tank as far as determining GVWR, payload weight, towing weight or any other weight rating. The weight ratings are very conservative. You can probably exceed all of them by 10% or more or whatever with no problem. I would simply not concern myself with the amount of weight of gas in the tank. In other words it shouldn’t really be a factor in determining if you are within certain weight limits.
