I've had my truck for almost twelve weeks and have put on about 2500 miles and I have yet to experience any vibration at any rpm. I have a 4x2 so I don't know if that has something to do with the issue.

I haven't noticed any vibrations in my truck and I've had it off-road a handful of times in the 6 weeks I've owned it. I'll keep a nerve out for it next time I'm driving and see if I notice anything.

I was actually thoroughly impressed at the improvements made to the 3rd gen since my dad has a 2nd gen 2013 and I notice a world of difference between shifting the manual transmission on both trucks as well as a lack of vibration in the rear like so many others experienced

No vibration issues, and transmission is glass smooth. No complaints.

I think some people have the vibration, but aren't as sensitive to it as others may be. If you are looking for it all the time you may feel it. I am a little OCD about these things and have to train myself to put it out of my mind.

I have it. My dash seems to rattle "in tune" with the vibration somewhere close to the firewall on the passenger side. It can be felt in the shifter and just slightly in the steering wheel under load.

    Build date 09/15, Texas.

1/21 build date, Texas ... 1800 miles ... no weird vibration, and I'm pretty sensitive to this stuff.

The only thing I've noticed is a slight hesitation/surge at 2500rpm under partial throttle acceleration, but this could be completely normal for the engine, and it is very very mild. It is a truck after all, so I don't expect it to drive like a Porsche flat 6 ;)

I agree, the surge you speak of is probably normal - I'm guessing it's due to the changeover in injection modes/Atkinson cycle/ VVT etc. Mine goes a bit flat at 2500, and then seems to come on again around 3500-4000 (feels a lot like the Honda VTEC surge). Yep, it's a truck.

I was thinking the same thing about the injection mode/VVTi/whatever. I wouldn't be surprised if whatever it is was normal ... I am still loving the truck :)

Its funny, I think I've seen 3 or 4 of these vibration poll threads now over the last few months. Every single one has been almost exactly 40% owners have vibration, poll after poll. I think this is a pretty reliable figure at this point. The best part about it being a fairly confirmed 60/40, is that there is something wrong with either 60%, or 40% of owners' trucks....

It's not a sample reflective of all owners ... just the ones that come online and go to forums, some of which are only here because they have a problem. So, the best you can say is that these polls are reflective of forum members, who, may be the same 60/40 voting time and time again ...

I don't notice it. Mine is a 6sp manual. Does anyone with a manual have it or is it an automatic only issue?

I honestly think it's an automatic problem. I bought the manual and I don't notice a problem whatsoever. I'm up at a ski resort right meow and even the snow stuck in the rims isn't causing any vibration issues at speeds in excess of 60km/hr

Just a quick background... I currently work on a hydrogen fuel cell assembly line buding just the steel frames for these 30' long self contained systems...

I know this isn't entirely comparable to Toyota's production line, but I honestly think the reason some owners are experiencing issues that other users are not comes down simply to human error. Not everything on these trucks is managed by a computer or robot. If some employee on the assembly line torques some components differently than what Toyota's work instructions require you're going to run into issues... For example some users have had loose U-bolts on the rear axle. This could easily be caused by human error, someone didn't provide the correct torque value for these components...

Not saying this is definitely the cause, but it's a possibility. My recoemdation to all Toyota owners if you are concerned with these issues cropping up, on your NEXT SERVICE, write out a list of things you want inspected on your truck and insist Toyota does not charge your for this service.

I've already got a bit of a list going of possible issues I want Toyota to inspect on my truck. One of which is the above mentioned loose rear U-bolts. I don't want any of these issues affecting my truck, and I certainly expect Toyota to back their product.

On a side note, one minor thing I've noticed which Toyota is looking into on my truck in a couple weeks is the driver side window wiper motor squeaking like mad. Even in heavy rain there is quite the shreak coming from the driver side motor/blade/linkage.... I haven't pinned it yet so not sure which it is.

Anyhow, my blabbering is over, back to my drink:annoyed::cheers:

There are at least 2, if not 3 confirmed reports of the vibration with the manual tranny.
