My truck is now squeaking front and rear, it is at an all new annoyance and sound level today after having driven down a dusty farm road this morning. I'll see if I can get a video up. I can make it creak, squeak and groan just by pumping the brake at a stop. You'd think the TRD OR would be designed to drive off road without groaning and creaking like a 1983 Oldsmobile with 187K miles on it.

See attached image of explanation for my squeaking issue, I just got it back from the dealership today. Basically the front body mount bushing was installed by the factory sideways which caused the body to hit it causing a rattle and squeak when accelerating. Once they replaced the bushing I did not hear anything else squeaking or rattling.

Toyota wouldnt do anything with mine all they told me was that they were sorry the representative said not to change them. Ive been fighting toyota on it for 4 months. Also the 15s had issues with the same thing. Toyota knew about the issue with i think it was (05 to 11) and they just made a recall. They also said they arent gonna make a recall on this one due to it not being a safety concern. Its crazy a new truck sounds like it was built in the 60s. Ive tried to get them to do all kind of stuff. Im about ready to open a lemon law case because it hurts the value of the truck and get rid of both of my tacomas because of it. Apparently toyota doesnt appreciate repeat customers. I hope others get better luck than i did.

So after last weekends outing the rear squeaks a lot now. Pretty much any bump I hit it squeaks and its both sides now as opposed to just the passenger side. I'll probably get under there over the long weekend and see about lubing everything up good.

    all tore up already
I have a suspension squeak in the rf of my truck. Usually only happens at parking lot speeds or when jumping on right side step. Might be from me over/under tightening something when i replaced shocks so im still trying to isolate source before giving it to the dealer to fix. The sound is worse when making a long left hand corner at low speeds sounds almost like rubbing high pitch long squeak, thinking coil spring moving against top mount.

Mine just started squeaking a week ago and it is getting way worse as time goes on. I only have 4K on the truck. I scheduled an appointment with the stealership for tomorrow and hopefully they will actually resolve it... It seems to me that it is really important that everyone who has this (or any) issue reports them to Toyota so they know how many trucks really have them. If this is really just a few of us replacing the springs is likely the answer as they aren't all defective. If it is more of us there should be a recall and Toyota needs to know how many there are out there.

They told me they know all of them are gonna do it . It just takes some miles i have 14000 miles on mine and its terrible and they wont do a recall because its not safety is what they told me. Ive spent 4 months on the phone with them and have tried to get to the highest person i could. Most i got was a supervisor for toyota. He said im sorry but we cant do anything. I asked him what we actually pay for a warranty for. I love my tacoma other than the squeak.

That's interesting. It seems like others have gotten springs under warranty. I wonder if that is based on different dealerships dealing differently or based on different folks at Toyota...

I think it has to do with the regional manager. He wont let them do it. They tried to get the dealership to pay for it and they wont. Thats how others are getting them. Its not toyota paying under warranty its the dealerships.

I figured 7 seconds was enough to get the idea across. But mine just started this last week after going down the road to my parents place that has been undergoing some maintenance. I power washed it on Sunday and the leafs look totally clean now, but it sounds exactly the same as it does in the clip.
    :annoyed:

Updated video to add another clip with it clean.

Sounds nearly identical to my roommates 1997 F150 bone stock base model after 160K with nearly 20 years on it. But mine was built in October and only has 12K as of today. *Facepalm.

I put 100K on my '09 Tundra and didn't have a single problem with it. 100% stock Rock Warrior suspension the whole way though. No tranny hunting, no power issues, no howling, and no squeaking or interior rattles. Wish I could have it back minus the space it took up.

I know the feeling. My old hunting "beater" was a 2003 Ranger XLT 4x4 with 160k on it. I sold it for $6k right before buying this new Tacoma. Funny I never had a squeak in that Ranger and actually I think the Air Conditioning performed better than the brand new Taco too. I know for damn sure the Motor and Transmission felt more sure-footed. Dealer has pressure washed the rear leafs and sprayed with 'penetrating grease', it worked for about 3 days or 3 hours, can't remember which...

After much aggravation and two trips to two different dealerships, I figured mine out on my own. In my case I am 99% sure the issue was with the thin metal radiator/bumper supports. I was able to replicate it easily be tugging on supports by hand. I sprayed gun oil on suspected contact parts until noise stopped and (knock on wood) haven't heard it since.

Yup, that's exactly what mine does. Pretty sure its the bushings on the leaf springs. I just haven't checked if they have zerks.
