Brought my truck in for service today and reengaged about my faulty blind spot monitoring. Toyota is no longer attributing it to lift and there was apparently a TSB released last night/this morning. Call your dealers and check it out.

2016 here, one of the first and it's always worked perfectly, before and after the lift.

Mine occasionally complains when it gets covered in enough dirt but otherwise its never really had a problem aside from one time where it stopped working but I turned it off for a couple days then back on and its worked fine since.

Don't care if it works or not. I don't use it. I just swerve wildly and let the cars behind/next to me to worry. Their problem not mine.

Sorry to jump in here. I have a 2017 OR double cab. I didn't know I had blindspot monitoring. Do all models have it?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Negative. I believe 2017 had it as an option but 2018 and up is standard in upper models.

    I had/have both 2017 and 2018 OR models.

Had the issue with my 2017 and Toyota kept my truck for over a week trying to figure it out. Turns out 2 of the sensors in the rear bumper were bad. I've gotten the warning message 2 more times since they replaced them. Turned the truck off and back on, the message went away. Dirt and ice build up will cause the message too.

2018s had it as an option- part of the tech package, that you could add to TRD OR and Sport. I wanna say the Pro and Limited got them standard?

I though OR and Sport were made standard in the 2018 years? When I picked mine out at the lot, every single one had it.

    EDIT:

Nevermind. Although TSS became standard, the actual BSM system is still optional.

Mine stopped working after a heavy rainstorm, three months into ownership. I scheduled the appointment for repair, easiest day for me to get to the dealer was a week away. Three days after I scheduled it spontaneously started working again, and has been trouble free ever since. Im guessing its one of the more temperamental bits of tech on the truck.

If you don’t like the way I drive, stay off the sidewalks.
    2016 works fine.

I don't yet, no. The lead tech was talking to me that there's a few for various problems that just got released in an email to them this morning. Mine failed when towing a trailer for example, and he said that was a common complaint they've had come in. There should be a completely new part number for the sensors. I won't be going back to get it done for a couple weeks due to time otherwise I'd reengage for you. You would have to go in and get parts on order though because they aren't on hand at most dealers yet.
