Does your dealer add these stupid fees?

I just wanted to post a pic of the "accessory package" my local Toyota dealer slaps on every new vehicle on the lot. They won't wave it either, I spent an hour trying to get them to when I walked from buying my moms Camry. They will even add it to a Tacoma I order even if I don't want it. This is why I'm strongly thinking of saying f it and go buy an F150. The local Ford dealer laughed when I asked if they had any of this bs.

I'd walk on those fees. That's a rip.

That's the problem, all the Toyota dealerships within 50 miles of me have this same bs except they add or subtract certain add ons. Out of state dealers didn't seem too keen on me ordering from them when I emailed them, they all said come in and order. Why the hell am I going to drive to NC or GA to order a truck when I can do it over the phone?? I gotta find a decent Toyota place around South Carolina, there's gotta be one.

That's horsecrap. Find a different dealer. When you contact them, make it clear you are serious about buying. You may get better results.

I'd be willing to pay for a plane ticket, pay for an uber/taxi to drive me to the dealership, and drive 2+ hours for how much the dealers are wanting for an "accessory package". All of that combined would still be less than the cost of the dealerships package.

They add all those b.s. so they have some wiggle room while you negotiate. Pisses me off but that's how they make their money. All those accessory options are standard from most dealerships. You just have to start at a very low price when you negotiate.

    chrome valve stems covers
Engines for life warranty. Many exceptions will exist.
Service courtesy shuttle. My dealer does this as a appreciation for peoples business.
Nitrogen tires are not really needed especially is you air down your tires for offroading.
You can get a better interior/exterior protection
I got 2 sets of floor mats with my Truck. no extra charge
If they pinstriped my Truck. I would have peeled it off and put it on another vehicle in the parking lot.
Every vehicle gets a complete detail after it gets off of the delivery truck.
Professional delivery. You go to the dealer to pick up the truck and someone shows how to start the vehicle, turn on windshield wipers, radio, etc.
All this crap is doing is padding their profits.
Do not pay for this package. See if you can get a quote for a Colorado and show the dealer that you are not 100% sold on buying a Tacoma.

Just walk and go to a different dealer. But my experience is Toyota dealers are the absolute worse with this kind-a shit, then add similar BS if you are under the Golf States Toyota or Southeast Toyota distributer mafia, makes it really hard to swallow. You also can't trust the TT&L fees at many round here, they will also add unneeded shit under that part hoping that you think it's required.

My dealer had those fees. I got everything included but I made them take off the full $1987

I am wondering if you could post all the stuff that some of these dealers try to pull on "social media websites" and expose them to the world.

How hard did you have to fight to get them to remove the fees? When I tried with my moms Camry they wouldn't budge so I said "bye" and they let a deal walk away. Instead of making something, they chose to make nothing.

The first think my salesman said to me after introducing himself was "I don't work on commission so I will sell you anything at basically any price" I walked him to this window sticker and said, "floor mats, nitrogen filled tires and pin striping isn't worth $2K. So I'll need all that removed from the price" at the end of the day, I drove out of there with a $33K truck for $25xxx. He made a sale and I got a basically unheard of deal!

I bought a used 2013 the other day and the dealer had a $399 "theft protection" charge - insurance if its stolen - I said I have car insurance, take it off and they did. I am confident they still got over on me, however, as they are pros at that.

That's going to depend a lot on the local availability of the model you want and the dealer. They are not making 0 if it's in high demand, they can make X today from you or 2X tomorrow with someone else. On my Tundra Limited is was easy, on my Tacoma Pro is was impossible at every dealer (except 1) within a 1000 mile radius who had one in stock. I did my own TT&L this time round as I was tired of that game as well. I Flew, Uber & Drove 800 miles back home, add up that cost and I still saved $5k over best local deal.

That's just ridiculous.. Isn't a courtesy shuttle just that?
