Does your dealer order stupid stuff like this on Tacomas?

yup our SET dealer sells dealer installed window tint for $399 no matter if it's the whole car or just the 2 front doors of an SUV/Truck/Van. which is completely asinine! and people eat that shit up. even though the 2 high school kids they have doing the tinting have no real clue how to tint. bubbles all in the tint and the gaps at the top of the windows are horrible. I made my dealer trade in a vehicle that didn't have tint on it, simply because I didn't want those two kids touching the windows on my truck. I do tint, and I know it don't cost anywhere near that to tint a vehicle.

That looks like an add-on sticker - the kind they stick to the side of the factory sticker. Those are complete make believe. The distributor changes are often much more subtle...

Here’s a prime example... note how quickly things add up on this base SR.

That dealer would never be my dealer. We have a dealer like that here in Ohio, Germain Nissan. I tell everyone they suck.

I got my 2018 Pro in Oregon for MSRP, plus no bullshit installed. Did it over the internet and walked out a little more than an hour after I walked in.

I live in the Seattle area. Drove it to my local dealer to pickup the door edge guards I ordered and a salesman snickered when he saw it. I asked why, he said he would never pay over list for a vehicle and thought it was funny because they are charging 10K over list for a Pro. I laughed back at him and told him no, I bought it from an honest dealership. He was with a customer and the look on his face was priceless.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Subaru does -in the northeast states. Oh and BTW -the guy that owns that distribution co. is a multi-millionaire, just from milking the public like these Toyota distributors do!

Correct, no deception on my part - I even marked the magnification with red. I didn’t want a lot of “where?” and “I can’t read that, it’s too small.” comments in reference. You have to love that “special” math they have though.

its because GST/SET existed before Toyota usa existed. so they don't follow Toyota usa rules.

everything in those regions are a monopoly. you can only get a factory warranty thru that region that goes thru an exclusive finance arm for those particular region. they only offer finance or extended warranties thru that region financial division that is owned by the same people that own the regional distributor. what you see in those regions as add-ons do not exist in the other regions controlled by Toyota usa.

    especially the toyoguard

that is why a lot of people that are forum members direct people to shop outside of those regions to save a lot of money.

The SET Distributors are all part of this ruse to scam the bills from your wallet! They order it on the truck and cars so it forces you take it vs. a dealer add on.

Ever try and have a SET vehicle warranty work done outside the SET area! Total pain in the arse! Also try and use some of the oil changes outside the area too. Even bigger PITA.

Southeast Toyota Distributors is the world’s largest independent distributor of Toyota's. The company was established in 1968 when Jim Moran partnered with Toyota Motor Sales to help expand the automaker’s presence in the U.S. market. Today, Southeast Toyota distributes vehicles, parts and accessories to more than 177 independent Toyota dealerships in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Vehicles manufactured in North America and Japan are processed at the company’s facilities in Jacksonville, Fla., and Commerce, Ga. Southeast Toyota also supports dealers through regional sales and marketing, customer service, accessory development and sales, Fleet sales, and transportation and logistics.

At one time he had the MAT (Mid Atlantic Toyota) Distribution too. It was disbanded for numerous reasons, fraud and corruption comes to mind! This guy is so slick he makes Teflon look bad!

this is a good deal these days. i paid about the same for my '12 sport auto.

in the Seattle area they would not go for all that add-on shit. they did try to get me on the laser etched security number on the windows. i just insisted they remove the charge.

a vehicle is a sizable purchase for like 97% of us. i can't believe folks get taken by stuff like this.

People need to boycott this fraud and insist on factory ordering to get exactly what they want and don't want.

No dealer/port installed options/accessories on mine (GST). I battled to get 10% off MSRP, I certainly didn't want to start negotiating with an inflated price.

Truth. I noticed a rather large difference in my local dealer's pricing and selling strategy and it was profound. They went from someone who I would never consider buying a car from to a dealer that sells at invoice all day long with no added crap.
