Does your elapsed time work in ECO?

2020 TRD Sport. Does not work.

 

back at the dealer again, 8th or 9th time, starting to lose count. Today they want to check connectors and wires. I am not sure why they are not replacing a part or two or reprograming the computers.

Took a nice trip last week and found out that the return button on the steering wheel does nothing, so its added to the list.

 

elapsed time? ECO screen? good luck with it.

Do they actually do anything or just park it out of eye sight for few hours while you wait?

 

I really dont know. Today I was told that Toyota Engineers said that the update they are working on will fix all the problems my truck has. Why they just dont reload the program and see if that fixes it, I dont know or maybe they can't?

so the return button was my error, you have to get into the system, passed the first page of say the LDA and then it works to get you back to the first page.

 

I was told by dealer that my SR doesn't show tire pressure, which I'm not really sure how since even cars from 2017 and before show pressure readout.

 

call Toyota Cares and ask them

 

I called them about the elapsed time showing 0:00, they said it's a known issue and so far it's not in the software update. I'll likely call about the tire pressure readings too. I could check the tire pressure on the app but it would be nice to have the read out.

 

I would call them about the tire pressure reading. You purchased a 100% truck, but your getting a 95% working truck.

I personally think it is a program problem or a computer/component that is not passing on the information, I believe that both problems are related, but that my thoughts. I am calling them after every visit to the dealer, since no one can tell me an ETA to my truck getting fixed and the dealer wants to keep checking stuff. My last visit, 4-5 hours in the waiting area was for them to check the wires and plugs. If it is a program problem, then why doesnt Toyota just reload the program and fix it?
I don’t have a problem giving Toyota a few months to rewrite a program or write a fix, but if they can correct this in 2-3 months, then they need to replace parts with right programs in them, since it seems that not all trucks have these problems, then that tells me there are computers/components with non corrupt programs.

 

I wonder if they've fixed this issue in the '21 models... any out there with one that can confirm?

 

Elapsed Time works on my truck but it is a 2017.

 

I agree, I do think they should be able to load the program in the next firmware update but Toyota Care doesn't agree :/
Does anyone else that have 2020 SR and show tire pressures?

I think my taco is the first batch made in Mexico. I wonder if they didn't quite get the programming right just yet for time elapsed and tire pressure? Being in the manufacturing world I can totally relate the difficulty of moving products to a new plant but this is still unacceptable.

 

I would check it when you're test driving it. Opt in for the show room car so that was my fault.

 

20 OR elapsed time doesn't work and never did. when I brought it in for first service I let them know. Went back for the second service asked again they said they know its an issue working on a fix. Still nothing.

 

I ordered a 21 Pro 2 months ago... if any dealerships get one in stock before mine is delivered I'll definitely go for a test drive and check it

 

2020 SR5. My elapsed time does NOT work. Have taken to the dealer several times and they replaced the head unit but it still doesn't work. They say it will take a software fix to resolve it but no ETA. I'm wondering is this is related to manual vs. auto transmission and that's why it works for some and not others. Mine is auto.

 

Mine is an automatic and yes from what I have found out talking to my dealer and Toyota, it’s needs an software update and Toyota doesn’t know when they will fix it.

a question, when your in CarPlay or Navigation if you have it, does the volume and stations show up at the top of the screen when you change either of them via the steering wheel?

 

I have Android Auto and have only used it once when the truck was new just to see if the function works and it did. I don't have Nav (SR5) and honestly, I don't remember if the volume from the wheel worked or not.

 

The trip information that shows up between the Speedo/tach when you turn the truck off, now shows up all the time. Before last week it would show up about 10% of the time.
