figured this thread could use some funny from the other end of the spectrum

close friend of mines dad died last year, friend lives in oregon, his mom still lives here in town. I do a lot of odd jobs around her house cause its a big place and has plenty of maintenance needed.

now my friends wife has been driving my friends mom nuts with asking what shes up to all the time, she also seems convinced that mom needs to sell her place and move into somewhere smaller

friends mom confides in me one day that shes glad i dont treat her like shes 100 and is incapable of making her own decisions haha.

As your wife gets older she may likely become more like her mom. Just saying..

My mother-in-law used to bug me. Not so much lately. It could be because she doesn't come over as much.

She's a great grandmother to my girls, and will do anything for them and my wife. So I look at it that way so I don't get irritated by her.

Love my wife's family, they are great. No complaints with any of them honestly. My MIL and FIL took care of my kids when I was in school and working, they did a good job with their kids and they are good people.

Yeah, I can't really complain too much. My father-in-law is cool as hell. Very chill, and loves to work and be outdoors. Great grandfather.

The time that I was super annoyed was when they lived with us for almost 2 years. Don't get me wrong. I'll take care of my in-laws and my own family when it needs to be done. That's the way I was raised. But...when they lived with us, God was testing my patience every single day. :) It was like raising 2 more kids on top of my 2 girls.

Mine used to really annoy me, and I would let it really bother me, but now that she has rapidly accelerating Alzheimer's, I feel guilty for feeling that way. Life is too short to waste it on letting others dictate your feelings.

No current MIL and there will not be one in the future...ever. But have never had a bad experience with any in-law family.

Yep. Mine's crazy as all hell. She is currently in a year long feud with her 2 daughters over spaghetti sauce. It's serious, too. They yell and cry on the phone about shit that happened 20 years ago:der:.

Unfortunately, the ol' apple fell right under that tree. I'm just like "whatever, weirdos".

My mom was visiting on vacation and moved furniture pictures and rearranged the kitchen cabinets and our bedroom drawers. She also insist on doing laundry every day. It drive me nuts and freaked the hell out of my wife. Needless to say that my mom will be living in a very nice senior living center when the time comes.
