i see you’re in the navy, they’ll give you a 10% discount thru the troop id. I ended up getting 84 dollars off my 800 dollar order.

Does anyone know if 2 intermediate sized gunner kennels will fit side by side in the bed of a 3rd gen? I have mine strapped down all the way back against the bed and it looks like maybe a second one could fit right next to it.

This is what worked for me in both my gen 1 and gen 2, I dont see why it wouldn't work in a gen 3. Fits 2, 60+ lb. labs.IMG_2488.jpgIMG_2489.jpg

Do you think that the way yours is setup, a car seat could fit in the jumper?

I have placed a car seat behind the driver seat as sometimes a niece rides with me.

Here is how it looks like from the driver side.

Is that a G1 intermediate? If so how the hell did you get it in the truck without literally taking the door off. I gave up on trying to get mine to fit.

it is the intermediate. As you see in the picture I run it with the back seat folded down. It is easier to push the front passenger seat forward a little bit to help squeeze in the crate. I take it in and out constantly as we move the crate between my truck and my wife's SUV.

I also have enough room to run ratchets straps from the back of the inside of the cab to the crate so that it doesn't move around the cab when offroading. I would also run a strap sideways effectively pulling the crate into the cab so that it doesn't move sideways and vibrate against your door trim. I had some paint scuff to my door trim after my first offroad trip with the kennel because it rubbed. The side strap prevents the kennel from touching the door trim now.

I am planning on picking up this crate. I am also planning on removing the upper and lower section of the rear seat while still retaining the jump seat. The plan is to build a platform out of wood to help lower it a bit and save the dog from having to jump up to that height.

I'll mess with mine again when i get home, i am curious if the outside dimensions have changed slightly over the years as i have one of the original Gunners (mine does not have the vent cuts in the back). My issue has not been space in the rear, i know it will fit as I have measured it. With my rear door opened all the way, the kennel does not clear the trim on the door panel to slide into the back seat. The angle of the door prevents me from squaring the crate up fully the back seat but your success has motivated me to try again.

haha my dog only puts his front paws on the lower door trim and I have to boost him up from his back legs. It is a tight jump up for him to make it, but he jumps down no problem. (he steps on the slider first then all the way down to the ground. You won't go wrong with this crate. You can also fit the air fan on the kennel front door and there is just enough room for it not to hit the window. I run the fan on his kennel in the summers

*** Update: I ended up purchasing 2 XL Ruffland Kennels. Very sturdy and heavy with thick doors and attachments to sturdily tie them down. Two XLs will fit side by side between the wheel wells.

Nope but my friend's GSD is named Bane. Mine are Phantom and Saber.

I mistook your dog for bane. I’ve been to the same evening sessions with banes owner. So unless you were there, probably not.
