Dog Platform

I built a dog platform in the back of my AC and covered it in some indoor/outdoor carpet that matches the upholstery color pretty well. I was pretty happy with with how well it turned out, but the 3-Legged wonder is terrified of it.

Perhaps I used the wrong carpet, but he seems to slide off of it when I stop. Any recommendations for a less "slippery" carpet or padding?

 

I put a dog bed back there that's big enough it doesn't move. I also used a rubber mat for the top surface so nothing slides back there.

 

I built a platform for my old FJ. I used a rubber backed entry mat from HomeDepot cut to size and glued to platform. Pup love it. I usually had his dog bed back there for him, but when the dog bed wasn't back there it provided a good surface that wasn't slippery or too prone to hold the dog hair. Something similar to this:
