Not to be nosey, but looks like Thor has been to the vet recently and received an I.V. Hope he's doing better now.

Not being nosey at all! Yes Thor went to the vet, he had an infection with similar symptoms of liver disease or something along those lines. So they ingected him with a dye and they watched it go through his system. Luckily his liver is healthy and he had some kind of virus. Still don't know what caused it but so far he has made a full recovery. He's very allergic to grain so they think he had an allergic reaction. What ever it was, it was scarey.

It was either a virus or reaction we still don't know. He was put on steroids and that cleared whatever it was up in a couple of days.

It's never fun when they're sick and you have no idea what's wrong or how to make it better.

This is one of our guys. Note a similar shaved patch on his front leg.

Adopted him from a rescue in LA and had him sent by airline to Calgary. It was love at first sight, and it was like he knew right away that he was with his pack in his forever home. Within a week though, he was extremely ill. Laboured breathing with thick yellow mucus streaming out of his nose. Never seen anything like it in any dog we've had. Vets were concerned it was a fungal infection that is indigenous to the LA area. X-rays showed cloudy areas in the lungs. Steroids, antibiotics, lots of rest, and he was doing much better after a week. Chest X-rays every couple of weeks for months afterward showed that whatever it was (likely K9 pneumonia) had cleared. Pretty touch and go for a bit though, and like you said, scary. Been with us nearly a year now. You'd never know he was sick, and we've never looked back.

Glad your pup is doing well. He's a handsome fellow. Both of your and your wife's dogs are beautiful. Good looking Deere too.

Speaking of the tractor can you believe Those are the original tires? My dad bought it brand new the year I was born in 1985. They still hold air and have good tread. And Has never been to a mechanic. (Diesel)

I wouldn't have guessed. Looks pretty minty.

I have another home in Ontario that I use as a cottage. My driveway is long enough that it could almost be considered an access road. Right now I have a friend who plows it out in the winter so my furnace oil delivery isn't interrupted. If I'm there in the winter, I do the last little bit down to the house, which is quite steep, with the snow blower. I'd prefer to not put a plow on my own truck, so I'm thinking a tractor like that would be perfect for clearing snow and taking out ruts in the summer. I'm trying to decide between a machine like yours, or a bobcat. The reality is a quad with a plow would probably get the job done, but think I'd have more fun with a machine like you've got yourself there. Looks like you put yours to good use. I can add hauling firewood to the pro list now of reasons to buy a tractor.
