Yeah I'm definitely not looking to be the ahole on the block. Just bought the house in Feb and plan to be quite a while. I'm a quiet guy I don't bother anyone - just do my own thing. That's why I'd like to squash this asap. The apt we moved from the neighborhood was filled with dogs so this was not an issue - neighbors would all come by to pet the dogs and say hi. Not here I guess.

One thing I would also do is go to the neighbor and let him know you heard his complaint and you are going to do what you can to fix the problem and to give you some time. If I knew my neighbor was trying to do something about it, it would help the situation a lot. Anything you try will take some time for the dogs to learn and the neighbor knowing that will allow you to work as a team and will keep the peace. Again - just my thoughts as a person who is going crazy from a neighbors a dog. I can go to the Home Owners and the City but I don't want that fight, however, if they keep waking my young kids up at night it is - Game On!!

Good point Dan - maybe I'll stop by if I see them out and apologize and let her know the game plan

Have you tried something simple and cheap like a water gun? We have a mini schnauzer that shuts up as soon as she sees the water gun, worth a try before you jump into the bark collars or similar.
