    My tool box is full of things like pipe extensions, homemade adapters for various things, old bearings to use as press adapters, etc. Never throw away anything like that piece of pipe. You'll use it more often than you think.

    That's a really helpful trick too and I do still use it. The only problem is that it can slip. You should see the scar on one of my fingers. I was using this trick when it slipped and I crushed my finger on whatever I hit and it looked like someone had hit my finger with a mallet. Pretty gross.
