Its not the led. The led doesnt have resistance because 01-04 reads the power off of resistance. Without being read the led will not power up. Adding resistance will fix the problem

oh boy so how hard is it to set the dome light up with a resistor? i think i just read that someone said they only needed one for the dome and the map lights work without a resistor

I still haven't gone to LED for my dome light. Unless someone has a plug and play version I probably wont ever.

The map lights are LED and work great in all conditions, the LED in the dome would only work with the map lights on or the key on... not at all useful.

Because of the resistance. Micah I already told you id do it for you. Its not hard at all. Take a 1 watt 100ohm resister and solder it to the 2 ends of the dome. After creating resistance with the dome the interior work fine without key.

my solder held fine, not like a ton of pressure will be on them.
not a solder expert, but from my understanding there is something to help with that situation though.

think them bulbs'll do ok? and an led is gonna be brighter than the stock right? cause me and dad are unsure. adding the resistor wouldnt it be coming out the same as the regular oem halogen bulb

it's cleaner looking for sure, not so sure about that LED.
the dome light with 6 LED's from chris is brighter but very directional, i would say it misses some area's of the truck because of design.
