the rear dome light in the double cab has two setting, door and on. The light comes on when the doors open when set to door, but I can't seem to just turn it on without the doors open. It will however turn on when I turn the rocker switch on that's by the map/reading lights in the overhead console. Is this normal operation? Does not seem right to me that the On position doesn't turn the dome light on and that it only works with either the doors open or the rocker switch in the overhead console set to on.

    Same here, first taco.

I guess the front switch has to be set in the middle setting for doors then you'll have control over the overhead light.

Had the same issue last night when installing my seat covers. Was curious about this. I'll fiddle with it more once I get home.

I was about to take it to the dealer to fix, glad i didn't waste the time as it seems its operating like it should. Seems strange to me that there is an "ON" position on the rear dome but you can never turn it to that position to actually turn it on. I do photography and store all my gear in the back there. I was out shooting last night and it was a pain not being able to just turn on that dome when i needed it. Hopefully there is some sort of fix.

I'm hoping I can source a front rocker switch assembly and install in into the rear dome light. I like that it's slaved for regular operation, but I want to be able to make sure it stays off for when I have a sleeping child in the back.
